🚀 ISRO YUVIKA 2026 Registration Begins from 27 February – Apply Online for Young Scientist Programme

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), Department of Space, Government of India, has officially announced YUVIKA 2026 (Young Scientist Programme). This national-level initiative is designed to introduce school students to Space Technology, Space Science, and Space Applications and to inspire early interest in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) careers under ISRO’s “Catch Them Young” vision.

🧑‍🎓 Eligibility

  • Students studying in Class 9 as of 01 January 2026
  • Must be enrolled in a recognised school in India


📝 Selection Criteria

Selection for YUVIKA 2026 will be based on the following parameters:

  • Marks obtained in Class 8 / last conducted exam – 50%
  • Performance in online quiz – 10%
  • Participation in science fairs / co-curricular activities (school/district/state & above in last 3 years) – 2% / 5% / 10%
  • Prizes in Olympiads or equivalent (1st to 3rd rank at school/district/state & above in last 3 years) – 2% / 4% / 5%
  • Winners in sports competitions (1st to 3rd rank at school/district/state & above in last 3 years) – 2% / 4% / 5%
  • Scout & Guides / NCC / NSS participation (last 3 years) – 5%
  • Studying in village/rural schools located in Panchayat areas – 15%

Note: Minimum participation will be ensured from each State/UT.

The programme will be conducted at multiple ISRO centres, including:

  • Indian Institute of Remote Sensing
  • Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre
  • Satish Dhawan Space Centre
  • U. R. Rao Satellite Centre
  • Space Applications Centre
  • National Remote Sensing Centre
  • North Eastern Space Applications Centre
  • ISRO Propulsion Complex
  • Regional Remote Sensing Centre


🎒 Facilities & Travel Reimbursement

  • Course material, boarding, and lodging for the entire programme will be provided by ISRO.
  • Travel reimbursement will be provided for selected students (II AC train fare or AC bus fare by State Government/authorized transport from nearest railway station/bus terminal to the reporting centre and back).
  • Original travel tickets must be submitted for reimbursement.
  • If travel is not by II AC, reimbursement will be limited to II AC train fare only.
