    The Wildlife Institute of India (WII) is an internationally acclaimed Institution that works towards strengthening wildlife conservation and management through capacity building, research, academics, and advisory services. The Institute is actively engaged in research across the breadth of the country on biodiversity-related issues. WII invites applications from INDIAN NATIONALS for multiple contractual positions under the Project Great Indian Bustard (National Conservation Action Plan for Great Indian Bustard and Lesser Florican).

  • Duration : 1 year (annual renewal based on performance & fund availability up to 5 years) 
  • Essential Qualification(s) :
    1. BVSc + Masters / MVSc or PhD from a recognized University
    2. Seven years of relevant experience (including dissertation / internships)
  • Desirable Qualification(s) :
    Experience of >4 years in bustard conservation breeding, husbandry & field veterinary aspects
  • Description of Work :
    Conservation breeding of bustards in Rajasthan and other sites
Project Sl. No. 2 
  • Title of the Project : Project Great Indian Bustard 
  • Position : Jr. Veterinary Consultants
  • No. of Position(s) : Three (03) 
  • Monthly Emoluments : ₹70,000 + NPA (for clinical positions) 
  • Age Limit : 35 years 
  • Duration : 1 year (annual renewal based on performance & fund availability up to 5 years)
  • Essential Qualification(s):
    1. BVSC or MVSc
    2. Three years of relevant experience (including dissertations / internships) 
  • Desirable Qualification(s) :
    Experience of >1 year in bustard conservation breeding / husbandry and vetcare 
  • Description of Work : Conservation breeding of bustards in Rajasthan and other sites

  • Essential Qualification(s):
    1. Masters’ Degree in Natural Sciences (Wildlife Science/Zoology/Ecology/ Environmental Sciences/Geoinformatics) from a recognized University
    2. Eight years of relevant experience in Academic Institution/Research organization or Scientific activities in any organization.

    1. PhD in Science with above subject discipline
  • Desirable Qualification(s) :
    Experience of >3 years in bustard research, conservation and Thar landscape. Candidate should have publications in peer reviewed journal(s)
  • Description of Work :
    Coordination of Project field activities, data collection, analysis, and report writing in Rajasthan & other sites

  • Position : Senior Project Associate 
  • No. of Position(s) : Ten (10) 
  • Monthly Emoluments : ₹42,000 + HRA 
  • Age Limit : 40 years 
  • Duration : 1 year (annual renewal based on performance & fund availability up to 5 years) 
  • Essential Qualification(s):
    1. Masters’ Degree in Natural Sciences (Wildlife Science/Zoology/Ecology/ Environmental Sciences/Geoinformatics) from a recognized University
    2. Four years of relevant experience in Academic Institution/Research organization or Scientific activities in any organization.

    1. PhD in Science with above subject discipline 
  • Desirable Qualification(s) :
    Knowledge of bustard conservation breeding & husbandry and/or in-situ research, outreach & conservation Experience in subject-related work desirable (>2 years of experience in bustard research and conservation). 
  • Description of Work:
    Conservation breeding of bustard(s)

    field data collection and coordination of conservation activities and/or implementation in Rajasthan & other sites

  • Essential Qualification(s):
    Master's Degree in Natural or Agricultural Sciences/ MVSc or Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine from a recognized University or equivalent 
  • Desirable Qualification(s):
    Experience of >1 year in bustard conservation breeding / husbandry / field research / conservation / outreach

  • Essential Qualification(s):
    (i) Master's Degree in Natural or Agricultural Sciences/ MVSc or Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine from a recognized University or equivalent; AND
    (ii) 2 years' experience in Research and Development in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organizations and Scientific activities and services
  • Desirable Qualification(s) : Experience of >1 year in bustard conservation breeding / husbandry / field research / conservation / outreach

  • An Application Fee of Rs. 500/- (Rupees Five Hundred only) for the applicant(s) belonging to General Category shall have to be deposited through an online mode.
